About Us
OUR BACKGROUND
The director, musical director and many members of the cast, production team and band were actively involved in the life of the Barry Circuit of Methodist Churches, and the name PUKKA is actually derived from the usual abbreviation used for Porthkerry Road – PKR. (Bet you didn’t know that!)
PUKKA was formed in 2005 with one goal – to put on a community production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Due to the success of it’s first show we were inspired to keep going and a year later West Side Story happened. We just couldn’t stop ourselves! So the shows came thick and fast, bigger and better: Joseph and his amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Buddy, Annie, West Side Story, Annie, Jekyll and Hyde, Sweeney Todd.

As of April 2023, we now have our own permanent Pukka Venue!
